Project:

Wild Muse is a global network of solo womxn travelers. It’s best explained by breaking it down to it’s three main parts:

Signs:
Wild Muse creats a standard of safety for solo womxn travelers. Travel-related business apply, receive training, and are awarded the Wild Muse Seal of Approval. This means that they’re an ally, a safe space for womxn abroad.

Web:
All of the best womxn-approved resources brought together to one cohesive, organized place.

Community:
Events, meetups, social media, & more.

Challenge:

Traveling alone as a womxn can be an incredibly eye opening, empowering, growth experince. My research proved that the number of womxn traveling solo has even increased over the last decade. However, my research, and own personal experience, brought to light two major issues:

1) Resources are disorganized, poorly designed, and overwhelming.

2) Womxn are still afraid to travel alone.

Outcome:

Wild Muse is a network of solo womxn travelers. Actually, it’s the first network out there specific to ‘womxn’ (which specifically includes women of colour and trans folx).

While there’s still a long way to go to make Wild Muse a reality, the plan exists. Wild Muse addresses a problem that is extremely relevant to our world today. It is a roadmap for a future where womxn feel not only free, but also encourage and supported to take on the world.

Because it’s our world too.
